Data Integration Market Today

Gartner estimates that the data integration tools market generated more than $2.7 billion in software revenue (in constant currency) at the end of 2016. A projected five-year compound annual growth rate of 6.32% will bring the total market revenue to around $4 billion in 2021.2

Leading data integration vendors must manage small and big, unstructured and structured data, batch and real-time streaming, on-premises and cloud or hybrid deployments, metadata, and deliver trusted data in to self-service analysts. According to Gartner, Inc., “Leaders in the data integration tool market are front-runners in the capability to support a full range of data delivery styles. They have also recognized the growing affinity between data and application integration and are haltingly approaching location-agnostic deployments (those that are not limited to cloud or on-premises, but can be deployed beyond a specific location). They are strong in establishing data integration infrastructure as an enterprise standard and as a critical component of modern information infrastructure. They support both traditional and new data integration patterns in order to capitalize on market demand.”

Gartner’s report description continues, “Leaders recognize, and design to deploy for, emerging and new market demands — often providing new functional capabilities in their products ahead of demand, and by identifying new types of business problem to which data integration tools can bring significant value. Examples of deployments that span multiple projects and types of use cases are common among Leaders’ customers. Leaders have an established market presence, significant size and a multinational presence (directly or through a parent company).”

Congratulations to the 2017 leaders.
