On August 2, 2017, Forrester released the latest The Forrester Wave™: Insight Platforms-As-A-Service, Q3 2017. In the Insight Platform-As-A-Service Wave, Forrester recognizes and evaluates the most significant providers in the market. Within the 36-criteria evaluation of insight platform-as-a-service (PaaS) providers, analysts narrowed the field down to the eight most significant ones — 1010data, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Databricks, GoodData, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Qubole — and researched, analyzed, and scored them. The report shows how each provider measures up and helps enterprise architecture (EA) professionals make the right choice.

As the cloud BI and analytics landscape quickly evolves, we are just starting to see cloud players leapfrog traditional analytics leaders. This year Google far and away leads the pack with Machine Learning, Real-Time, and Insight Application Tools. Here is a complimentary copy of the full report. It is a good read for analytics pros.

Time to take a look at Google for analytics and machine learning – especially if you are migrating to the cloud! While this group is lagging on data visualization, they appear to have far more compelling cloud analytics solutions for advanced analytics and data warehousing.
